MERGE CAMP

PARENTS, REGISTER YOUR KIDS TODAY TO ATTEND!

At Merge Camp, kids ages 3rd grade-6th grade will experience God on a completely different level and will be challenged to live out their faith.  They will also have a lot of fun doing a variety of different activities including riding a giant swing, sliding down a huge slip-n-slide, teambuilding, ziplining, fishing, archery, crafts, and swimming.

DATES

Monday, June 2 – Saturday, June 7

  • Check-in is from 10:00-10:45am on June 2.

  • Upon arrival at Beulah Beach, our volunteer nursing staff will check every camper for lice and a normal temperature prior to check-in. MERGE CAMP FAQ’S

What should my child bring to camp? (Please mark all of your child's belongings)

  •  Bible and pen

  •  Sleeping bag/sheets, pillow, and bath towel (Note: beds are either twin xl or double)

  •  Clothes for the week: modestly styled t-shirts, shorts, pants, jacket, and/or sweatshirt. Campers are discouraged from wearing tank tops due to the high risk of shoulders getting sunburned, even though sunscreen is applied.

  • A light or white colored t-shirt that you don't mind if it gets paint-stained for a big group game.  (In fact, the campers may be painting in Crafts, so it's always best to send clothes that you don't mind getting stained.)

  •  Toiletry items (i.e., comb, deodorant, shampoo, body wash)

  •  Beach towel, modest swimsuit, cover-up

  •  Tennis shoes, beach shoes, spare shoes

  •  Prescription drugs:

    • MUST BE in their original containers with the name of the doctor, name, and phone number of the pharmacy.

    • Must include detailed instructions regarding treatment and how long the camper has been on the medication.

    • Upon arrival, these meds must be turned in to one of our Camp Nurses at Registration.

    • No expired meds will be accepted!

  • If you send non-prescription drugs, these also must be in their original containers with detailed instructions and turned in to one of the Camp Nurses at registration.

Campers may also want to bring: sunscreen, blanket, hangers, and insect repellent

Campers may NOT bring electronic devices, cell phones, candy, food, weapons, drugs, tobacco, or money.

How do I send mail to my camper?

Parents are welcome to send mail to their campers. It is important that letters and packages be mailed very early during the week to ensure delivery. Please DO NOT mail money or large packages. Send mail to the following address ONLY during the week of camp:

Camper's Name, Merge Camp, c/o Beulah Beach, 6101 West Lake Rd., Vermilion, OH 44089

Can I visit my child or call them?

Parents are permitted to visit the camp, but it is not encouraged. We also discourage parents from calling their children and campers calling home. We find that campers get a lot more out of camp when they can be fully engaged with the excitement of the week. We are especially sensitive to campers who may be homesick, and we won’t hesitate to call home if it’s needed. If absolutely necessary, contact with your child may be made by calling your church group's leader or by emailing cbyers@marysvillegrace.org

What do campers eat?

Beulah Beach Camp provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner for campers in the Sunset Cafe. Meals are served buffet-style by the Beulah Beach Kitchen Staff and feature kid-friendly balanced meal choices. If your child has special dietary needs, please note it on your child's registration form or email cbyers@marysvillegrace.org.

Please note that we cannot have food items in the dorm rooms due to the risk of campers having allergic reactions and to keep from attracting unwelcome critters into the dorms. Any food/perishable items brought by or sent to the campers will be kept by the Merge Camp Office Staff and Counselors and will be given to the camper during swim time; if anything is left, it will be returned to the camper at the end of the week to be sent home. All campers get a $5 voucher to go to the Snack Shack to purchase snack items to eat at swim time. They also have an evening snack time that is provided by Merge Camp.

Will there be a nurse at camp? General health information:

Volunteer licensed, professional nurses, will be there to help make Merge Camp a safe, healthy environment and to ensure that campers’ basic medical needs are met.

Upon arrival at Beulah Beach, our volunteers will check every camper for a normal temperature prior to check-in.  If a temperature of 100 degrees or higher is found, then the child will be unable to be checked in and the parent will be contacted to come immediately to pick up the child. (Campers must be fever-free for at least 24 hours prior to coming to camp.)   While at camp, should he/she develop a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, the child will go rest in a designated quarantine room and if the temperature does not come down within 1 hour of rest, the parent will be called to come immediately to pick up the camper.

Our camp nurses oversee the administration of all prescription and non-prescription medication for the campers. If you plan on sending your child with any medication, please fully complete all medical information on the registration form and speak with one of the nurses when you arrive.

What do I do if my child has special needs?

Please contact your Children's Director for further information before registering for camp to ensure that we can provide the proper care for your child.
